Psychological Salon-Exploring the Emotional Journey

At noon on November 1, teacher Liu Xiang of Zhejiang Guanxin Public Welfare Growth Support Center, invited by Gongshu District Federation of Trade Unions, hosted a psychological salon-exploring emotional tour for Hengyu Construction employees.

In order to facilitate front-line workers to participate in this salon, the venue was specially arranged in the conference room of Hengyu Construction Gongchen Stock Economic Cooperative Commercial Comprehensive Housing Project Department, and was arranged during lunch break. When designing the salon, Mr. Liu considered that the staff should be sleepy at noon, and arranged a meditation and relaxation activity-body scan at the beginning.

The activity began, and everyone slowly entered the state with the audio played by the teacher. After that, each participant felt relaxed to varying degrees. Some people later reported that they were asleep. Teacher Liu explained that this is not really falling asleep, but entering a relaxed state similar to hypnosis. In this state, the effect of rest is very good. Ten minutes of meditation can be worth an hour of traditional sleep.

Then Mr. Liu and the participating partners read out and raised their hands to confirm the group convention. What impressed people was confidentiality. Mr. Liu specially used the method of "saying important things three times" to emphasize. The reason for emphasizing confidentiality is that this salon is psychological, and it will also involve the sharing of some personal private content. The setting of confidentiality is to create a safe sharing atmosphere. In addition to confidentiality, there are principles such as non-evaluation and non-recommendation.

After everyone raised their hands to agree to comply, the emotional exploration journey officially began. Under the guidance of teacher Liu, everyone first recalled an emotional experience that made them uncomfortable, and carried out a series of work on this emotion, experiencing this emotion from a physical point of view, writing down the situation in which this emotion occurred, and describing the situation at that time from the perspective of "perpetrators", and finally describing the situation from the perspective of "journalists". When these emotional experiences are described from multiple angles, in groups of two, everyone had an exercise of talking and listening: the person who talked had 3 minutes to talk, and the person who listened only listened and did not respond. At the end of the two rounds of practice, the general feedback is very fruitful, such talk and listening effect is very good.

After the talk session, Mr. Liu also guided everyone to "deal with" the three pieces of paper that wrote down the emotions and their situations. Most of the partners chose to tear them off and gave feedback that they "tore them up very well".

Finally, everyone made an action to represent their emotional feelings at the moment. Before the end of the activity, everyone summed up their impressive parts in the salon or the places where they gained more. At this point, everyone is really open, most of the partners express to each other to talk to listen to the link to the greatest benefits. From this point of view, in such a fast-paced life, we really need an ideal channel to talk. At the same time, if we can practice being a good listener, it is also a very good start.

Based on the production and construction of the project department, Mr. Liu pointed out the common psychological problems of front-line workers due to work pressure, life pressure, organizational pressure, social pressure, such as depression, anxiety, environmental discomfort, interpersonal discomfort, and so on. Then he analyzed the causes of common psychological problems, and put forward suggestions for the adjustment of personal psychological problems, which won the unanimous approval of the participating workers. The whole salon had a harmonious atmosphere and warm interaction. Yao Baiyong, the project manager, said with emotion: "there are many young people on the construction site, coupled with heavy and boring work, few holidays, and a relatively narrow range of communication. Many young people who have just arrived are not used to it. It is especially necessary to dredge this emotion. The company's psychological salon activity is precisely in response to the needs of young people."
